Run the Remove Ink Smears procedure from the printer's front panel. This process cleans the printer's internal paper path by running several sheets of paper through it. Be sure to have unused, high quality, bond laser paper in the trays. Do not use coated papers or any other specialty media with this procedure.

1. From the printer's front panel, with the printer in the Ready state, highlight Menu and press select.

2. Scroll down to Troubleshooting; press select.

3. Scroll to Remove Ink Smears; press select.

Repeat this procedure up to 5 times if needed. You may also need to manually clean some areas of the paper path. Refer to the related documents below for more information.
